IT'S OFFICIAL!! Meet Elizabeth Joy...

We have committed to bring home a precious baby girl from Eastern Europe, Elizabeth Joy!! We found her through the Reece's Rainbow website, a ministry devoted to raising awareness and helping families adopt children with special needs such as Down Syndrome, HIV+ and other conditions. She has Down Syndrome and is healthy. She turns 4 months this month and we hope to bring her home in 5-6 months!

We're working on our dossier and getting ready to submit our forms for USCIS approval. It's been a crazy ride so far and we're just getting started: ) We're so thankful for this opportunity and pray God will keep her safe and cared for while we wait! Please join us in praying for our Elizabeth Joy and for our family as we work as quickly as possible to bring her home!

Follow our blog as we will be keeping it updated on our adoption journey.

  8. Hey, we were actually with Sarah at this orphanage and got to see this little gal too (from Sarah's pics) and hear about how cute she was too...we couldn't get over how much she looks like Sarah and Shawn's little Mila. She's in a good orphanage, so she is receiving the best care she can...but it's nothing like what you will be able to provide her. If you have any questions about the region, facilitation team, etc. feel free to email me as well--although I'm sure Sarah has filled you in already :) www.homeonthekansasrange.blogspot.com

  10. Our family has been aware of the orphan crisis for about two years now, and we have made it our passion and our mission to pray over these precious children. Each of us has a specific child we pray for regularly, and several of us have chosen more than one. With eight children and a daughter-in-law, that is a lot of children receiving much prayer! For Thanksgiving, we put place cards above each person's plate with the child's picture and name with the saying "Lord, thank you for giving us more than we deserve. Now please break our hearts for the things that break Yours." And every child gets prayed for by name before we begin our meal. It is a tradition we cherish, and it causes us to redirect our focus on that blessed day of family time. This year, my parents were visiting from out of town, and we added two more precious darlings to our place cards. I chose little Kylen and her face and name adorned our table. Imagine my delight when, the night before Thanksgiving, in checking up on the children we pray for, I saw that your baby had found her family. I kept it a secret until our prayer time at the table the next day. If only you could have seen the tears of joy and the excitement at our dinner table. It had such a profound impact on my parents that they took their little place cards home and are continuing to pray for the children on them. We are rejoicing in the power of prayer and praying that your adoption goes smoothly and quickly and that you are soon enjoying your little darling and helping her to understand the love of our Lord and Savior.

  11. My dear, good. It is a pity that I do not know your names. We are very glad that the girl got to your family. According to letters we understood that you are very decent and kind people, young and beautiful. God sent you to the girl. Please, if it is possible don't deprive of us possibility to watch on a photo as grows and the baby develops. We will pray for your family and Libby's health. Thanks and good-bye.
